Hasta luego, Barcelona y España

It’s hard to believe that six weeks ago I began this grand adventure and that today I leave Spain.

They say that time flies when you’re having fun but I can attest that it just plain flies.  While I’ve had an incredible time traveling to new places, seeing all the sights, sharing the stories with you all, I’ve by no means been pressed to do anything or constrained to a to do list; yet my time here ended just as quickly.  I have zero desire to leave Spain, however it’s much like the rest of life in that we spend our days resisting change but dreaming of the future.  How can we get there if we stand here?

And so it is with a heavy heart that I take the first step of my next thousand miles (approximately 7,813 miles actually) to a new destination.  If you are unaware of where that is… stay tuned, my next post will include the travel stories and pictures you’ve all come accustomed (nay I say addicted) to.   If you know… keep it to yourself!

In a previous post I calculated my “movie worthy” time and after 6 weeks I believe that accounts for approximately 11.5 minutes.   My guess would be that would include: taking off from NYC and landing in Barcelona, struggling with the keys to enter and fearing the elevator, wandering around the city by foot seeing all the sights (masterfully capturing pictures on my iPhone which will be used in the collage for the closing credits) but achieving instant bliss upon finding an old but favorite meal and short (perhaps 2 second) clips of you all in various places and times laughing, remising and sighing with longing while reading this blog (it’s a lot for 2 seconds but I’ve seen the range of most of your emotions – you can do it!).

All of this masterfully edited and pieced together with some vastly appropriate yet non-cliché music.

The next minute begins my arrival in a new country, ready for the next set of adventures!

  1. Six weeks? No way! It's been such a blast seeing Barca through your eyes and sense of humor. It seemed like the perfect place for you: the ideal combination of laid back culture and you favourite foods and wine. So looking forward to seeing how the next destination treats you. Bon voyage!
