And so it was time to bid farewell to Cairns and head to Sydney. The time was short but fun; I hope to return and visit the Great Barrier Reef again.... and maybe even scuba dive.
An absence of Starbucks pictures; this one located right outside the hotel in Sydney.
The addition of another American - my sister, Jenn.
A view of the Harbor Bridge.
Lookin' so much better now that we're in the picture!
Gates to the Royal Botanical Gardens
Below: This tree fell over in 2008 and will not be fixed (stood up) as the damage is at the root; so it just grows like this now.
The rose garden. A bit early but a few rose blooms were peaking out on this fine spring day
Upon exiting, please walk through the gate to the left.... do not climb the fence. Ooops
St. Mary's Cathedral. Unfortunately they don't let you take pictures of the inside but it was very pretty.
Fountain in Hyde Park facing the cathedral.
I didn't catch what this building was (next to the cathedral) but thought it was nice - as such I'm sharing with you.
I've seen some really strange things but this may be at the top. I believe this is supposed to be a costume of a wallaby or maybe an ant eater raising awareness to save the forest. I'm still unclear if this is helping or hurting the cause.
